The LSM Alumnus Scholarship is automatically added to any music scholarship earned by alumni of LSM through Concordia's scholarship audition process. Music scholarships are awarded based on talent, character, and instrumentation need. Non-music majors have the same eligibility for music scholarships as music majors. In some cases, non-majors are awarded at the highest level.

Concordia University Irvine is a Lutheran university in Orange County, California (app. 1,500 undergraduates; 5,000 total students) that provides big opportunities for musical performances and study. In 2017, the Concordia Choir and Sinfonietta marked the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in Wittenberg, Leipzig, Berlin, and Salzburg.  In 2019, the Concordia Wind Orchestra joined the international commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day (www.cui.edu/dday75).  Music is one of the most prominent aspects of Concordia's identity, as displayed in our recent sold out performance of Reformation 500 in Segerstrom Concert Hall and our annual made-for-TV Christmas special airing across the nation on PBS (www.cui.edu/christmas). Concordia students study in the Borland-Manske Center, one of the premium collegiate music learning centers in Southern California. Our student musician population, environment, and faith-based approach at Concordia is very similar to the LSM experience. Music scholarships are generous (the LSM scholarship is an actual bonus stacked onto the music scholarship, up to full tuition). Any LSM student is encouraged to connect directly with LSM alumnus, former counselor and board member, Jeff Held (jeff.held@cui.edu), who is the Assistant Dean & Director of Orchestra Activities at Concordia.
